The biggest problem that I see with astrology is the states of fear and anxiety that an astrologer can easily induce in a client. Yes, our karma can be difficult especially in certain periods of our life yet our karma in this life is not the whole story. Recently I got to ask Ram Dass his thoughts about these ideas. The following is an article that was inspired by what Ram Dass said. This will be published in the Maui Vision Magazine for the June/July publication.
Trust and Acceptance
“Trust would settle every problem now.” The line from A Course in Miracles was like a mental massage. Something released and I just felt “ahh.” It couldn’t have been better. It was like Lomi Lomi for my brain in about 15 seconds flat. I like that kind of efficiency. However, I’m still trying to absorb it after 6 years. Once in a while I remember to carry it around or another ahh-inspiring quote like, “It is enough to accept the present moment as it is.” These two quotes have carried me through many tough days over the years.
Why does it always seem to come back to trust and acceptance? As an astrologer I continually see people facing difficult life situations. What intrigues me is how some people are able to move into trust and acceptance relatively easily, while others have a tough time. Recently I had dinner with a friend who shared his opinion that the key to success today is all about “adaptability.” His point was that we’re all thrown curve balls, but successful people adapt to change instead of resisting it or reacting with fear. It explained a lot for me. Trust and acceptance help us stay present so we can adapt to change.
Recently, I asked Ram Dass about coping with challenges after a gathering at his house on Maui. He said and I paraphrase, “What’s important is to be able to observe your life without identifying with it, to watch the karma unfolding like a movie, while still remembering that you’re an eternal being. That’s the trick.” He then repeated one of his famous quotes, “The game is not about becoming somebody, it’s about becoming nobody.” Ahh, thank you Ram Dass, another mental massage, like any good quote should be.

The double transit of Jupiter and Saturn (the sign that receives the aspect of both Jup and Sat) moves into Virgo and Capricorn, two earth signs, as of May 27, 2005. This is because Saturn moves back into Cancer where it will be over two years. Jupiter also goes direct on June 5th after being retrograde since Feb 3rd.
You will notice that whatever houses Capricorn and Virgo represents in a person's chart will become emphasized until Sept 28th when Jupiter enters Libra and the double transit shifts to Aries.
Here's a short list of the effects for each house:
1st house – Body, one’s identity, self-confidence, overall success.
2nd house – Earned income, acquisitions, food/diet, speech.
3rd house – Communication, advertising, hobbies, writing, siblings, short journeys, short-term goals.
4th house – Home/residence, real estate, mother, vehicles, general happiness.
5th house – Creativity, children, romance/dating, investments, education.
6th house – Health, disease, acute illness, daily work, litigation, debts.
7th house – Relationship, marriage, partnerships – business or romantic, foreign places.
8th house – Other’s money – loans, inheritance; litigation, chronic illness, sexuality, transformation, occult knowledge.
9th house – Long distance travel, spiritual teaching and teachers, good fortune, father.
10th house – Career, employer, work/action, outer achievements.
11th house – Monetary gains, side incomes, major long-term goals, groups, friends.
12th house – Distant places, introspection, debts and expenditures, isolation.
