At times like these, it's exciting to be an astrologer. There is a drama of exceptional proportions unfolding in the skies recently; things are not remotely normal. Rather than sensing interesting daily energies, instead what I'm seeing is a once-in-a-lifetime saga of personal and planetary transformation taking place. Today looks like it could be one of our finest highlights yet.

This could be a day where we mentally put some of the pieces of the puzzle together. Multiple threads may come together in our minds or in our intuition and begin to tie us in more consciously to what the tremendous opportunies for growth and change currently are. This could be a day where we step up in empowerment and find ourselves more actively involved in the changes that are occuring. All of this that we are seeing now is relatively uncharted territory, which makes it all the more dramatic to witness and experience. I would make as much room as you can today to take time to think and reflect on the current events, shifts, and changes--because something very powerful is likely to come from such an exercise.

The massive solar flare from yesterday is a definite wildcard in the astrological picture, but my spidey sense tells me that this was a very auspicious event on the whole. It seems designed to uplift our spirits in some way, reaching a deeper, causal or mental body with some kind of spiritual jolt. Because this would seem to represent an acceleration of sorts, I would imagine it would feel intense to some people, but on the whole my intuition is that it's part of this exciting planetary shift we are experiencing (see my recent article below on "God Burped Today" if you didn't receive my newsletter already), and a nice little healing "attunement."

Wednesday, October 29th


I think things may finally be looking up. Between today and tomorrow some of the recent heavy pressures (of the last two weeks) upon us begin to be lifted. Today runs off a string of planetary aspects that are easy to handle, so we may see energy, confidence, and ease returning today. Things will probably come into more balance in relationships, however if there are issues that need to be dealt with in that area, this could also be a day where we are forced to deal with those issues. Another wildcard is the massive solar flare that the Sun just shot out (one of the largest in recorded history). I'm probably going to write about that in a newsletter today, so stay tuned. There's certainly still more transformation to come, but we may be turning a nice corner today.

Tuesday, October 28th


Today should bring a sort of mixed energy. In some ways yesterday's overall trend is continuing where things are lightening up to an extent, but today also looks like it will bring some emotional challenge as well, perhaps to be less attached to others.

Monday, October 27th


Yesterday probably saw a lot of folks meeting some mucky "old stuff," with the possibility for some kind of healing taking place around those issues. The mood should be much lighter today. In fact, it may feel a lot lighter than it has in about a week. This may give us a moment to glimpse the big picture a bit and see how powerful the changes that are occurring in our lives are. What's been happening may be unsettling in some ways, but the planets are reminding me that we should trust in that if that's the case, because a fairly monumental growth in life direction and consciousness would seem to be the end result for most people at this time.

Sunday, October 26th


This could be a really, really strange day. At some point in the day, emotions should be particularly high as we are forced to deal with something of a more unpleasant nature. This may have something to do with loss or the letting go of some relationship in our lives. But there is a positive purpose to times like these. For one, sometimes we need more intense events to force changes in our lives or relationships, and these changes could be very beneficial in the long run. Also, there are times when we gain in psychological health by revisiting old emotional wounds and being really present to our feelings and experience. Love and family matters are likely to feel a little off today, but these challenges may not last long beyond today.

There is another challenging influence happening now, which has been in effect for almost a week. This would seem to pertain to some kind of crisis or coming to a head of major issues that are related to our spiritual and emotional growth. While we are moving ahead in many ways right now, part of that process of moving ahead involves deeply sensitive issues being brought to the surface. I would recommend trusting in these events and considering that these things are testing our emotional and spiritual growth. There is certainly some kind of Grace present as well to give us the chance to meet some internal challenges and overcome them.

All in all, it's really pretty awesome even though it isn't easy, and probably leaves us feeling sometimes like we would like to check out. Saturday, October 25th


Recently we've been paying the pied piper--or the pied piper has been paying us. It's been time to settle the karmic balance sheet, getting what we deserve, whether that's expansive, contracting, or some of both. This trend continues for at least another five days. Usually at times like these some material plane bummers or headaches are common. For getting to live in this amazing reality and all of the possibilities it offers, sometimes we have to pay those taxes, visit the dentist, pay attention to our health, and fill out those long bureaucratic forms. Things like this just come with the territory. It's much better to just be thankful for the greatness of this life, even though it sometimes feels anything but great. Focus on the good, and you will create more of it.

Every time I look at the current positions of the planets my head starts spinning with all of the energies and possibilities. We're looking at New Moons, upcoming eclipses that form unbelievable patterns, longterm Yod configurations, and multiple sign ingresses. We are still right in the middle of a number of significant changes (over the last few days) that are happening with the planets, apparently indicating a real shift or redirection in our lives.

There is an influence happening now that I should have mentioned about four days ago, because it would have had an influence then as well. This would seem to pertain to some kind of crisis or coming to a head of major issues that are related to our spiritual and emotional growth. While we are moving ahead in many ways right now, part of that process of moving ahead involves deeply sensitive issues being brought to the surface. I would recommend trusting in these events and considering that these things are testing our emotional and spiritual growth. There is certainly some kind of Grace present as well to give us the chance to meet some internal challenges and overcome them.

Thursday, October 23rd


Wow, there are so many different things happening right now. Between yesterday, today, tomorrow, and the day after tomorrow, a number of significant changes are happening with the planets, apparently indicating a real shift or redirection in our lives.

Wednesday, October 22nd


Like yesterday, it looks like this will be another day of enormous potential. First of all, socially and emotionally we are likely to feel like we are on pretty solid ground today, even though the day seems to have a spacey quality in a lot of other ways. This lays a nice foundation for a current pattern showing a twofold potential. On the one side, there is the chance that some spotlight of awareness will be brought to some of the old issues that we are dealing with over the remainder of this year. On the other hand, some people will probably use this opportunity to reach out to others socially, and perhaps create more harmony and cooperation with others.

Mentally this looks like it could be a very potent day, perhaps with an emphasis on "Aha!" intuition or with some kind of higher perception of reality. For some, communicating with large numbers of people or a sudden change around social or professional matters could bring some nice results.

Today also represents a fairly significant turning point, and we may find ourselves reflecting on recent social events, lessons we have been learning, or things that we now want to focus on. Tomorrow will certainly bring a lot of fresh, new energies, so we'll have some exciting developments to look forward to then. But today, enjoy whatever kind of harvest you find yourself having.


Tuesday, October 21st


'Some really neat stuff to talk about today. First, I expect some kind of healing potential to unfold today and to get stronger and stronger as the day goes on. This seems likely to be a strengthening of our psychological well-being, perhaps with the chance to work on putting some puzzle piece into place that helps us with some kind of internal struggles that we might have been having for about a month now. For some, remaining productive and active will have a lot to do with this improved well-being.

Another pattern shows a twofold potential. On the one side, there is the chance that some spotlight of awareness will be brought to some of the old issues that we are dealing with over the remainder of this year. On the other hand, some people will probably use this opportunity to reach out to others socially, and perhaps create more harmony and cooperation with others.

Overall, with so many things happening astrologically today, it's probably hard to really sum everything up. But one word that might really describe today is "opportunity." Go forth ye, and find it.


Monday, October 20th


The planets have been surprising me recently with how many interesting patterns they have been forming, but today is the first day in a while that doesn't have something so unique going on. I would imagine that today would sort of "give us a break" to try to integrate everything that has been happening, and to try to find some solid ground to put our feet down on. Partnership and one-on-one communications are highlighted to some extent; it might be a good idea to be mindful of not getting into unnecessary arguments.

With less distractions than normal, we should be able to move ahead with things we really want to focus on right now, or to return to ourselves in ways that will feel individually grounding.


Sunday, October 19th


I tell ya, for just a lil' ol' Sunday, this day looks like it's going to pack a big punch. You may have heard about the Harmonic Concordance by now (I'll be writing more about this very soon). In short, it has to do with a profoundly spiritual pattern forming in the skies as we speak, and today (as well as yesterday and perhaps the day before) triggers that pattern a bit. So some of the really big things that are happening on an astrological level should get some kind of a kick-start. Some of this has to do with healing energies of an enjoyable/fun or heart-centered nature to help resolve and make more perfect some of the psychological tensions that have been present for maybe a month now.

At the same time, today there should be some powerful, but temporary, tensions to deal with now as well. These may have to do with our relationships with women or feminine energies. Something is likely to be out of sync in this department today. Women may feel this internally moreso than men, and might feel quite a bit emotional. This looks like a very temporary bump in the astrological road.

With so many things going on today, though, some very powerful things are bound to happen. One theme may be that of balancing love and work, or of taking time to handle some things that come up in relationships, or with women, today. It might also be a very powerful day for writing.

Saturday, October 18th


One of Neptune's jobs is to make the veils between the visible and invisible worlds thinner. We've been tasting that for at least a couple of days now. For example, it's normal to have more powerful dream experiences during such times as we have now. In a bigger picture context, we're still experiencing a focus of our energies to manifest our dreams and build them into the concrete world of physical reality. It would seem that taking an approach that combined the spiritual magic of such things as prayer and intention with the values of good old fashioned hard work would really be a way of working in harmony with the apparent direction of the Humaniverse at this time.

The first half of today should give a lot of folks some needed time to retreat and rejuvenate after a powerful week filled with a lot of powerful potentials. Overall, I think turning inward or towards our loved ones and nourishing the soul is a big part of what we'll be seeing today. Maybe we'll keep exploring life's mysteries or just taking some needed time to stare off into space ...

After some of that, tonight could bring in a more fun and lively energy. As long as we turn away from the stimulation of the outer world a bit and follow our hearts's inward desires, this looks like a nice one.


Friday, October 17th


All of the astrology this week has been very interesting on each individual day. Today provides another interesting configuration for us to play with. It seems to be some kind of test of the heart. After some influences this week that were probably very expansive for most people, we may get an interesting opportunity to see if our feet are still on the ground. The things to watch out for would be: an exaggerated idealism or relational urge that leads to over-extending yourself emotionally or getting too involved with others, perhaps in the wrong way or with the wrong person(s).

It's going to be an interesting day to see what happens around love and relationship matters. This need not be a negative influence, but I think it will be most beneficial for those who keep a very realistic, centered, and down-to-earth approach towards matters of the heart; if you can manage to get into that positive group today, then you might simply find your heart opening in some dramatic way.

Another direction for this energy to go is simply over-indulgence. Eat, drink, and be merry may be a fitting description of today's energies, but of course we don't have to devour the refrigerator or down a case of Bud to be merry. You know the drill, everything in moderation. We'll see about that. I don't expect a lot of moderation going on today, but it wouldn't hurt for us to try.


Thursday, October 16th


Each of the last three days (including today) has featured some very powerful, positive opportunities, and each one has been different. Tuesday had some kind of a mentally intuitive or creative potential. Wednesday had some kind of potential to integrate male-female energies, or to achieve some kind of social recognition. Today seems to offer some kind of enjoyable social or sexual energies, or some kind of great social confidence or charisma.

Today seems like a really amazing day, and one theme may have to do with the settling or balancing of karma. If you've got good things coming your way today, they could be really, really good things. Your Spirit and emotions could be soaring much higher and clearer than normal. Your intuition could be exceptionally high today, so definitely listen to your inner voice now. If you are on the other end of the karmic balance sheet, expect some payments to be made, but all in all, look at whatever happens today as being particularly for your own good in the long run. All in all, I'll bet we unearth some pretty amazing insights today, and take a giant step forward spiritually.

Wednesday, October 15th


There aren't a ton of clues for us up in the sky today, but there are a couple, so let me see what I can come up with. First, a very positive pattern that has to do with working on ourselves or devoting ourselves to some kind of craft for the good of all is coming to a real head right now. This gets back to the "God speed" comment I made on Monday. God would seem to be moving us right along in some kind of spiritual direction that would involve very grounded activity and results. I don't think there's a whole lot we need to know about this other than that it's probably a good idea to be very thankful for any buoyancy we've been experiencing and to consecrate it by really offering it up to Spirit with the intention that it serve God's Will rather than just our own desires.

This looks like a relatively smooth day with still a chance of some kind of inner negativity that we may have to meet and uplift. Social harmony looks pretty nice though, particularly around mid-day. There may be a chance to tie up some loose ends with some of the unusual opportunity presented to us yesterday. Overall this strikes me a day that will have a very spiritual purpose to it, with some nice communicative energies present.

Tuesday, October 14th


This looks like a beautiful day in the neighborhood, particularly the second half of the day. Air signs will be feeling especially lucky, and we should all have some significant kind of opportunity to link up our minds with our intuitions or creativity. Today also seems likely to have a more solid and focused feeling to it, unlike the at least slight drama of yesterday.

We also seem more likely to be pulled into some kind of dynamic social role or opportunity for expressiveness or leadership. It's a good day to really trust in ourselves without becoming overconfident. There seems to be some kind of window opening up today in regards to the things I have discussed above. Seize the day!


Monday, October 13th


Yes siree, I'm back in action after having some serious internet connection issues last week while I was on the road. I'm going to do my best to make sure that that won't ever have to happen again. Now let's try to catch back up on what's been going on. A couple of things mainly come to mind for me.

One is that we have been experiencing the positive spiritual potenial of some dynamic astrological patterns very strongly recently. It looks like feeling a return of spiritual power and consciousness after some major tests in August and September. This really positive energy is still increasing and should reach its peak during this week. When I look at it, a phrase comes to mind: "God speed." I think that's how we'll all be moving along this week.

Another recent theme has been a particularly sultry planetary pattern that has probably stimulated sexuality in a lot people. That's great of course, unless it leads to doing something stupid because one is thinking with his/her "other brain." It's a ripe time to explore the depths of our sexuality, but it's not a bad idea right now to be led with our hearts rather just our lust.

Today, there may be a significant shock around mid-to-late afternoon; expect things to change unexpectedly around there. Tonight, some serious communication with others may be in order, though we should be particularly careful not to feed the flames of conflict; or tonight may be perfect for some real focus with some kind of mental project. With a little discipline, tonight could be a very fruitful and creative time. It also seem entirely possible that some disappointing news may come our way tonight, or that we may feel disappointed with some kind of communication, friendship, or mental/creative endeavor. Through generously sharing knowledge with others, we can make the most of these energies.


Wednesday and Thursday, October 8th and 9th

The first half of today has all the makings of a very spacey one. Forgive yourself if you find your mind drifting off to Never Neverland. It probably just needs a break. Today also has, though, a unique potential for harmony with others or groups of others, although much of it also seems to be independent in nature. It's a day where people seem likely to be able to be uniquely themselves, as wild as they may happen to be, and still find harmony with others who are also marching to the beat of their own drummer. Which is pretty awesome, really. Express your uniqueness fearlessly to others today, and find out that that's exactly how it is supposed to be.

It's Full Moon time again, as we're just a few days away now. This is an especially potent Full Moon period. It seems really important to remain very grounded during this one, because it seems to want us to find a way to open up to both traditional and alternative values and do some kind of work or building to bring these two things together--this is a theme that has been ongoing for a while now, but this Full Moon makes it even stronger. Those who don't have a grounded kind of focus might end up feeling a lot of internal pressure psychologically, so I would definitely recommend remaining active and working towards something solid over the next couple weeks. I think a lot of folks will really find themselves in the flow, overcoming challenges, and seriously moving forward with their goals.

This is also a Full Moon where sexual energies will be riding high. Many people will utilize a universal charisma boost to their advantage. It wouldn't hurt to make the most of your social mojo over the next couple of weeks.

Did you enjoy whatever kind of mental pinnacle you experienced yesterday? Beginning today, the planets seem to be saying a lot about mellowing things out and smoothing things over. This could be a very special time for harmony and communication with others, and focusing more on matters of the heart. Look today to create Win-Win situations with others, and some wonderful partnerships could be the result.

It's Full Moon time again, as we're just a few days away now. This is an especially potent Full Moon period. It seems really important to remain very grounded during this one, because it seems to want us to find a way to open up to both traditional and alternative values and do some kind of work or building to bring these two things together--this is a theme that has been ongoing for a while now, but this Full Moon makes it even stronger. Those who don't have a grounded kind of focus might end up feeling a lot of internal pressure psychologically, so I would definitely recommend remaining active and working towards something solid over the next couple weeks. I think a lot of folks will really find themselves in the flow, overcoming challenges, and seriously moving forward with their goals.

Monday, October 6th


I'll bet you haven't been too bored recently. There have been a lot of powerful configurations going on, moving and shaking us all over the place. What I think this is largely about is getting some kind of focus in our lives which is both "spiritual" and very grounded at the same time. And if you didn't feel a crescendo of energy yesterday, I've got something for you. That would be today.

You've been hearing me talk a lot for months now about unusually expansive and stimulating opportunities for the mind. Today is kind of a final, big bang of this recent influence. We should see some pretty amazing mental/creative things come to a fullness or fruition--or even just a point of realization. But be careful not to get so spun out in your mind that you begin to worry too much about things, perhaps financially, or by spreading yourself too thin. Focus is a very good thing right now. There is a shift after today which should see us moving away from mind-sharpening mental fixations and more towards things like relationships, arts/music, and harmony with others. Our ideals may become more lofty and less trivial. This Tuesday and Wednesday should see an awesome opportunity for creative arts, and for positive communication, sharing, and harmony with others. I'll drink to that.


Sunday, October 5th


Some of the unusual mental and creative potential of the last few months should get a very nice boost over the next couple of days; particularly by connecting the mind with intutitive realization and divinely-inspired "genius." It looks like a really great time to put some time into any mental or creative endeavors.

As I've been mentioning the last couple of days, today gives us an interesting opportunity with some challenging aspects. A lot of folks will probably feel less self-esteem and personal power, though it would also be possible to ground any psychological challenges into some kind of dedication to something of an alternative or holistic nature. Relationships with men would seem to be not so easy and flowing under this aspect, so I wouldn't worry too much about any relationship challenges that arise since it will likely pass quickly after today. There are some lucky folks out there who will probably ride all of this dramatic energy to some kind of great accomplishment, focus, or breakthrough. Today should bring its share of interesting changes and fluctuations. Emotionally and spiritually we should get a refreshing influx of positive energy (especially later in the day or at night), which may feel a bit foreign after some of the challenges in these areas that have occurred of late. If you can link some kind of service, study, or work on yourself to some kind of larger goal or social vision, you would seem to be riding these waves perfectly and feel a very strong boost in your direction today. A lot of folks, though, will probably utilize the energies to get really drunk. You decide, I guess.

Yesterday I spoke of some of the challenges of this weekend, but I may have overstated this a bit. I definitely think there will be some unusual challenges there, but I also think we'll get the chance to do something very constructive with them. More on this tomorrow. After the mental, creative, or practical opportunities of yesterday and the mental and emotional upliftment of today, tomorrow should be an interesting chance to overcome some unusual obstacles and see some inner alchemy. Friday, October 3rd


Though solid and productive in some respects, yesterday could have also brought some physical or financial "tests" or challenges. Today seems to have much more solidity to it, and opens up a nice bit of material and/or mental potential, particularly in the middle of the day; it looks like a really nice window of opportunity.

This could also be a very inspiring time spiritually if we want it to be; it could also be a time of escapism, which does not seem to me to be the best use of the current energies.

Overall, I would try to get some kind of momentum, going into this weekend. Over the weekend, there may be some challenges, but if you can carry yourself today on a high note it might really help over the next couple of days. These upcoming challenges may have a lot to do with self-esteem, though what they seem to be asking for is for us to overcome any self-doubt with persistence and groundedness and to make some kind of significant personal progress with whatever issues come up. Be careful of any tendencies to sacrifice or relinquish your power too much. Stay strong; even if you don't feel that way it should pass soon enough, and be ready to turn the humility lesson of this weekend into some kind of spiritual gold.


Wednesday and Thursday, October 1st and 2nd


We're starting a significant configuration now that I'll probably be talking about a lot this month. First, some background. A major pattern of energy amongst the planets that started towards mid or late August has represented a kind of spiritual challenge to us. Most people found their energy sucked down a bit into things like: escapist pasttimes, emotional cloudiness, spaciness, and lack of spiritual integrity. This has been one of the bigger challenges of the last 45 days, and yesterday was powerful because it had us suddenly revisiting some of those same challenges. Throughout this time, those who mastered these challenges should be very proud of themselves.

Now that energy has shifted, because the configuration has shifted. Now the energy is much more complete, and will be much less challenging. We'll see more and more people really putting things together so that they can combine their spiritual integrity with their worldly disciplines and make powerful progress. This will be an even more powerful trend, and part of the good news there, is that much of the progress will probably happen even despite ourselves. When the planets really get rolling, it's tough to stop the momentum that they symbolize.

Today looks wild. On the one hand, there are some particularly gnarly transits that should ride the emotion of the New Moon to amplification, particularly in the earlier part of the day in Eastern or Central time zones. Part of the good news is that this seems likely to pass pretty quickly after today, and the other part is that even in the midst of some serious tension, love seems to be able to win out here, or some kind of healing artform may be a great way to channel the major buildup of planetary vibrations looking for a positive way to manifest. Yet at some point in the day, maybe later on, there are very indulgent energies that could help to relax some of the tensions of the earlier part of the day; I would just be careful not to overreact to any psychological pressure with too much indulgence.

"You loook maahvelous." "No, you loook maahvelous." It may be that sort of day, especially during the first half of it. With social confidence riding very high, there seems to be some enjoyable energies here. I don't think there's much for me to say, other than to enjoy whatever positive vibes come your way, whether it's socially, materially, mentally, or creatively.

The second half of the day, though, seems more likely to bring us some emotional challenges, so the day could end up feeling a bit schitzophrenic in the end. The challenging energies might manifest instead in the earlier part of tomorrow, particularly for Eastern or maybe Central time zones. There would seem, however, to be a potential to take the hard energies and transform them into some kind of inspiration towards a healing artform; so you might want to be open to consciously channeling energies in this direction.

Welcome to the Fall of 2003. Today has "newness" written all over it, so it should be fun to watch the new events that unfold. There is still a little bit of time left to take advantage of some of the recent, powerful energies for creativity with holistic or alternative matters. Not only might it be a good time to take advantage of inspiration, but it would also be a good time to begin new endeavors and get various projects started. This is all the more crucial because there is a very hard pattern of energy shown by that planets right now that can be really transformed into something more wonderful by putting your creative intelligence to work. It's an important time to keep busy, make connections, and stay creative. As Confucious might have said about this time: sitting on one's butt will lead to pain in butt. You know, something like that. So keep that butt moving and you'll do some very nice alchemy with your inner universe.

Today is not as likely to have as "solid" a feeling as yesterday. There is more like to be some challenges, particularly in dealing with the negativity within our own minds; however many people will be able to take this challenge and turn it into a motivation to uplift their thought processes and turn to a more spiritual source.

We're all still swimming in new astrological energies. The last few days have likely brought sudden changes, and those new events are still in the process of unfolding. Keep your eyes peeled for surprises, and after a few more days we might have a better idea of the new experiences and changes that are taking place.

Those who have felt like many things in life have slowed to a snail's pace over the last few weeks will be glad to know that Mercury will be direct this Saturday, and that it will finally make sense, and be easier, to see plans, transactions, and communications starting to move in a markedly forward direction again.


Tuesday, September 16th


This strikes me as a good day to keep rolling with some kind of focus and continue on with whatever communications can keep things rolling in your life. The only issue may be to flow with the adjustments that have recently been needed to be made.

In the big picture, we're working on gaining a lot of awareness of some issues we've been revisiting for many years now. So much of the progress that we are making right now is mental rather than external. If things don't seem to be moving as much as you've become accustomed to, or if things seem to be moving backwards, don't sweat it. This is a temporary condition that will be removed by the time we get to 2004. In the meantime, "awareness" is the word of the day. You can now revisit some old themes with a fresh, new, and healthier perspective. Raise your consciousness now, and the fruits will manifest later.


Monday, September 15th


Oh boy. I'll bet you things feel real different right now. Something just shifted up in those heavenly skies, and it's fairly big. After last night, chances are you noticed a sudden shift, as well. Some of the progress we've made over the last six months just went unusually "retrograde." This confrontation with "old stuff" is usually not one that is high on our wish lists, but it seems to be part of the divine joke that is being human. If you have enjoyed the last six months (and the water signs are the most likely to be able to say this), though, don't worry because the same basic energies will be back in 2004.

This current shift is likely to feel the most pleasant for air and fire signs (except maybe Leo's), and the least comfortable for water signs. Air signs may feel that they can breathe again (this may not be such an issue for Gemini's though), while the water signs may be learning how to suddenly breathe water again--and that's probably not as easy as advertised, even for fishes.

Here's one thing to ponder: if you've got any unfinished business from the last seven-to-eight years with either the concept or reality of groups of people who are connected by some common identity or cause, it's time to come clean with yourself and work it all out. It's time to work out those social issues over the remainder of 2003, so that you can get back on track with your internal, creative, and spiritual focus in 2004. Chances are, there's something leftover for you to see and work on.

For most people, though, relationships will enter a nice little period over the next few weeks. That's nice, if love and harmony are your kind of thing. However, this may not seem so true today; but the impediment today should be pretty short-lived for most people. Some of this friction today could be released sexually, however, if that is your kind of thing. Cancers, Leo's, and Virgo's could also have to deal with some "new" challenges in the relationship department over the remainder of this year, however. If so, be happy that you are really growing and moving onto better things and healthier patterns in the long run.


Sunday, September 14th


There's a fairly big shift happening in the planets between today and tomorrow, and it looks like today will not disappoint with drama to mark this transition. Relationships in particular seem fairly likely to have some surprises, and these will be challenging for a lot of people, particularly in the second half of the day [Note on 9/15: I should have also said -or- the earlier part of Monday]. For those who have been consciously working on building up their self-esteem and maintaining a balance between work and love-or-play, this will be a more positive transition, because you are then more likely to take a nice step up in awareness around these issues. But be willing to learn some things today, and to see any unforeseen challenges that might arise as opportunities.

Tomorrow we're going to wake up to a very different reality. Today, and the last couple of days, probably represent an intensification of recent astrological energies, for better or worse. But tomorrow things start getting different, and at least some of it should be very nice. The planets have been a little dreary of late, but I think we'll see at least things start to gain a little color beginning perhaps as soon as tomorrow. We could probably use some brighter hues in our lives right now, and social and romantic situations should begin to provide some of this at some point over the next week. For many, this may have a lot to do with thinking less seriously and pragmatically and opening up to more of the pleasures and social opportunities of life.

Friday and Saturday, September 12th and 13th


A significant change came about in our lives due to a planetary shift starting around March 10th of this year. What this would bring for each person is highly individual, but there is a good chance that some things changed almost suddenly for all of us, and gave us a very new taste or experience of life. What it really relates to, in a general big picture, is that we began to powerfully evolve in new ways by experiencing very new things. Our lives shifted, as we closed one chapter and started another. Or so we thought.

The phase that began for us six months ago is coming, just temporarily, to a close. Literally, the remainder of this year will not have this same phase emphasized. Instead, we will be revisiting at least some of the fundamental arenas and themes of personal growth that were emphasized over the last seven years, and taking care of any leftover business so that we can move back on with this new pattern begining again in 2004. The next few days are likely to bring us some insights and consciousness about the growth of the last six months, before we head back into some of the older patterns again, starting next week (Monday). There could also be some interesting suprises for us as we head into this new time.

One of the things that may come to be emphasized over the rest of this year is cooperation and gatherings with others. There may be an emphasis on humanism and working on an equal plane with others for whatever purposes attract you. If there is anything about working with, or being a part of, groups of people that you want to learn more about, the rest of this year may give a good and major opportunity to focus on those things. We could get a real chance to consciously master some of the lessons that we have been working on since 1996, around the subject of working together with others for various social purposes. Individually it will mean very different things for different people, but this is one of the few things I can speculate about that could apply to many people.


Thursday, September 11th


Hmmm. You know, it's not real easy to write a daily astrological message for September 11. All that I really hope to do with astrology is raise consciousness and help people live more abundant and graceful lives. On that note, let's not ignore how important the things are that we learned two years ago today.

We realized how incredibly precious our lives are, and we learned to be so grateful for being alive. We learned to never pass by an opportunity to show someone kindness, and to always make sure those close to us know how much we love them. We remembered the things that really matter. One of the best ways we can honor the memories of the innocent people who died two years ago is to remember the important lessons of life that those terrible events reminded us of, and to love, each day, as if it were our last.


Wednesday, September 10th


I'm guessing that this has been a wild week for most people. Under the Full Moon's tractor beam over the last few days, some unusual and unexpected events seem likely to have come about for most folks, quite likely with some intensity to them. We'll still be feeling this influence for the next eleven days, so there could certainly be more surprises to come. Today brings much of the dynamic energy in the Full Moon to a head, so I'd expect to wake up tomorrow a slightly different person, since this is a lunar event that has a lot to do with purging and cleansing ourselves of physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual waste.

Keep your third eyes peeled today for some special, sudden insight around some of the areas where you've felt stuck recently, or around some of the ways you have been rethinking things or re-envisioning yourself.

Beginning tomorrow I expect things to start to settle down a bit. Well, sort of. It'll probably be more of a temporary settling down. But maybe we'll get a few precious days that feel remotely normal.

One of the best strategies for working with these energies over the next twelve days is taking the opportunity to hatch ourselves from a new egg. Metamorphosis. There is a lovely statment related to Pluto in astrology that goes something like, "Change or die." It's sort of like that. Visualize your change then, and seize the day to make it happen.

Let the ride begin. It's time for the next Full Moon's themes to begin to be dramatically felt. Here are my comments, written a couple of weeks ago, about the last New Moon, which were written to comment on the last couple of weeks.

Well the last New Moon (last two weeks) had its share of intensity, but this Full Moon is--I cannot tell a lie--even more intense. We are pretty likely to see some sudden, unexpected events that will shake things up emotionally, and we will be forced to make some very deep-seated changes through this entire process. I love to be the bringer of good news, but this is not one of the more pleasant Full Moons you're going to find. Sometimes just knowing that such a thing is clearly indicated in the stars can provide a ground for trusting that everything that unfolds is a part of some divine plan far greater than we can possibly conceive. But let's look for a silver lining.

One of the greatest things happening with the planets since August has been a very powerful emphasis on an almost divinely inspired experience of the mind. Some of the most positive benefits of these next couple weeks still seems to be through an exalted experience in the mental realm. One interesting balancing act, then, could be between any mental stimulation taking place and between some of our emotional and spiritual needs throughout this time.

Sometimes when things look really heavy between the planets, there is no way to transform those energies other than through a profoundly spiritual approach as our foundation. I can not emphasize enough the value of prayer at this time. We will all need more spiritual help than normal, so let's pray for ourselves and for those in need. I think it is very important over the next couple of weeks that we do not get so busy, or so caught up with our mental stimulation, that we forget to make time to invite Spirit powerfully into our lives.


Saturday, September 6th


The early part of today should offer us a very powerful, positive, and expansive opportunity related to mental or practical matters. After some unusually heavy patterns the last few days, this should feel like a nice relief for a lot of people. In some ways this could be a significant day for reflection, and discontent with some matters in our lives could lead to making some changes.

Here is something to check in with yourself about. One fairly major shift that took place yesterday probably got many people thinking more selfishly and less cooperatively. Pay very close attention right now to any self-centered thoughts or desires arising that may not be mindful of others. If you pay very close attention to this, you will likely be able to catch some negative tendencies and steer things back in a conscious direction.

In some significant way, the next couple of days will also see warlike energies prevailing over more peaceful ones; the positive element of this may be that we are able to get an energetic boost and power through some of our goals. But globally, peace may be on a more tenuous thread. Doing what you can personally do in your own life to emphasize and promote peace over conflict would be very helpful right now. Again, a good occasion for prayers to call for help in this matter.

Another starry event occuring today will bring very different results for different folks, however in general, it will begin an energetic phase of seeking out more passionate adventures and challenges. The previous energy of the last year and a half (related to this same pattern) brought an emphasis, very generally speaking, on seeking peace, stability, and security. So look for folks to begin venturing out of the solid foundations they have been building, and testing their confidence and power by taking more risks. Through this time, personal interests and needs are likely to become dominant over relationship needs, so it would seem best to find your own passions and be ready to pursue them at the times when those you are in relationship with need more freedom and space. This is a fairly significant theme for the next year and a half.


Friday, September 5th


The last couple of days were very unusual, and certainly had the potential for some heaviness, along with the major potential for levity as we tried to deal with some heavier events or feelings. I imagine there were a whole range of extremes going on out there. Something powerful no doubt occurred for us, and we can only trust in the perfection of all of this from a higher perspective. We may find ourselves now more humble, more aware of our vices, lighter after releasing some things, or more aware of what we need to do to remain spiritually connected.

Today seems to continue some of the heavier parts of this trend, as we are likely to be much more aware than normal of some of the harsh or seemingly unfair elements of life. There are probably a greater number of people in world than normal who are suffering or struggling right now, so prayers for Grace for the well being of all would be very appropriate and timely.

Thursday, September 4th


I feel sorry for anyone who has to work today, because the planets look something like a Dionysian holiday. Our desires are probably at a more coarse and overindulgent level right now, and part of the day's theme is finding the balance between being a prude and having no restraint or self-control whatsoever. We're more likely to be on the latter side today. In some strange way, this eat, drink, and be merry approach may be a fitting finale for one of the astrological influences that is changing tomorrow. One thing I would suggest, though, is being more sensitive to others today. If we aren't careful, a lot of people's feelings could get stepped on, creating more pain and drama than necessary.

One other thing to keep in mind today is taking a spiritual, rather than a worrisome attitude towards money and finances. Some challenges or tests around this issue may be on the daily queue, so it's a very important day to focus on gratitude for what we do have. Look around, and be in awe of the many blessings that surround you.


Wednesday, September 3rd


This is a day where some powerful events will take place, beyond our control, which will change some of the direction of our lives. For some it will be related to health issues, but for many it will relate to our commitment to our spirituality and/or our commitment to grounding our dreams into reality. Those whose desires are the most positive on a universal level could get a substantial boost from this configuration. It could also manifest as tests related to spiritual discipline versus negative escapism.

Additionally, today would be a good day to focus on what you really want at this time in your life; if you can do this today, money is more likely than normal to begin to come to you to support you in these wishes.

One of the major themes of this week has to do with choosing between a higher spirituality or a greater tendency to get lost in escapist pastimes. This is a very important week to do whatever grounds you spiritually and gets you connected with a higher power. If you don't do this, you're likely to find yourself drifting off into never neverland. At times emotions will be high and we'll be feeling quite sensitive, but if so, be very cautious about drowning those sorrows in ways that are destructive to yourself. This would be an excellent time to get back into your daily spiritual routines. It's the high road or the low road this week.

One interesting feature of this time is that it is a great time to pay homage to the traditions that we respect or want to be a part of, and to find ways to participate in these traditions more fully. By refining our approach in order to be a part of something with a rich history, we can help perpetuate something that adds a lot of color and value to our cultures.

This is also a particularly important time to find inner sources of spiritual strength, and to work with these forces. Much of the creative and mental potential available to us at this time probably depends upon our ability to directly ask for this spiritual help.


Tuesday, September 2nd


Today seems likely to swing between two extremes. The first part of the day, which lasts up until 2:30 pm on the East coast or 11:30 am on the West coast will probably feel less grounded and focused. Up until that time, something may need to be released from within. After that point, the day seems to take a more industrious turn. One of the themes of today has some emphasis on generosity and sharing and/or letting go of something valuable, or in other words something valuable that you possess being extended to others.
